The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) proudly announces the inauguration of the Mohammad Ali Choudhury Power Electronics (MACPE) Laboratory. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Room No. EEE 634 (6th Floor), ECE Building, BUET.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and Ministry of Railways, Government of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury, Honorable Pro-Vice-Chancellor, BUET, attended as a Special Guest, and the program was presided over by Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Badruzzaman, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, BUET.

The ceremony commenced at 4:00 PM with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Harun-Ur-Rashid, Professor and Head, Department of EEE, BUET. A remembrance speech was delivered in honor of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Choudhury, after whom the laboratory has been named, recognizing his outstanding contributions to power electronics and engineering education in Bangladesh.

Following this, distinguished guests addressed the audience, highlighting the significance of the MACPE Laboratory in advancing research and innovation in power electronics. The Honorable Chief Guest officially inaugurated the laboratory, emphasizing its role in fostering cutting-edge technological advancements and supporting the next generation of engineers in Bangladesh.

The event concluded with concluding remarks from the Vice-Chancellor, BUET, a visit to the newly established laboratory, and a light refreshment session at the ECE Building’s 3rd floor.

The establishment of the MACPE Laboratory represents a significant milestone in BUET’s commitment to excellence in research and education in power electronics, contributing to the nation's technological and industrial progress.
