Zahurul Islam obtained a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering
from University of Alberta, Canada in 2012. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. in EEE
degrees from BUET in 2000 and 2005, respectively. He worked as a Post-Doctoral
Research Fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada during 2012-2013. Dr.
Islam is currently a Professor in the Department of EEE, BUET. His research
interest includes the areas of Nanophotonics, Biophotonics, Plasmonics, Optical
Sensors/Biosensors, Microfluidics, Photovoltaics, and, Fire Protection and
Safety.
